Our first 2 nights away went brilliantly. The bed was very comfy and the Ikea blinds in the rear, combined with Fuel Lagoon Thermal Screens, kept out the light really well in the morning.
We ‘camped’ on a relative’s drive for a birthday BBQ as it was a nice ‘safe’ way to try out Edith’s facilities knowing we had the house to use if needed. We could also use their shower as I haven’t yet built Edith’s! The toilet in the van was great too as it was raining on and off in the night.
We used sleeping bags on this occasion as it was easier to store them. Eventually, I plan on using a Night Owl Washable duvet, but I need to finish things a bit more so the duvet and pillows have somewhere to live and keep nice and clean.
I would highly recommend anyone using their van for the first time try it out on their own drive or a friend’s or relatives’. It’s a great way to try it out and learn what needs improving (if you are self-building) or what you need to pack differently next time.
Edith is far from finished, but she is getting there and will only improve over time… we can’t wait!!
